ABT’s Theatre for Young Audiences Presents The Adventures of Stuart Little

ABT’s Theatre for Young Audiences Presents The Adventures of Stuart Little

Peoria, Arizona (February 16, 2012)

Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) opens its second Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) show of the season on Saturday, March 24, with The Adventures of Stuart Little.

This charming and wonderful children’s story written by E.B. White has been adapted for the stage as a one-act play by Joseph Robinette (Anne of Green Gables and Charlotte’s Web).  In a letter White wrote in a response to inquiries from readers, he stated, “… many years ago I went to bed one night in a railway sleeping car, and during the night I had a dream about a tiny boy who acted rather like a mouse.  That’s how the story of Stuart Little started.”

The many adventures, both big and small, of Stuart Little are brought vividly to life is this marvelous production.  Children of all ages will enjoy following an acting ensemble of seven who play many human and animal characters in a series of delightful scenes that make up the maneuverings of a mild-mannered mouse trying to survive in a “real people’s world.”

Joining ABT as director for this production is Andy Meyers.  Andy is a professional actor/director originally from
Missoula, MT., and is a member of the theatre’s current Mainstage production of Sunset Blvd.  “Stuart Little is such an iconic character in children’s literature,” says Meyers.  “This show is sure to entertain the entire family as we follow Stuart’s adventures and all he larger than life characters he meets along the way,” he continued.
